On March 16, 2012, the first meeting of the Ukrainian-Pakistani Business Council was held in Kyiv at the premises of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI).

During the meeting chaired by the First Vice-President of the UCCI Victor Yanovsky the Council’s founding documents were approved and its executive staff was elected.

The President of Eastern European Alliance, Ltd. Olexander Ivanchuk was elected as Chairman of the Council. The heads of more than 50 state-owned and private companies, state and public organizations, research institutions of Ukraine interested in developing cooperation with Pakistani partners joined the Council as its founding members. The Business Council members represent various sectors of Ukrainian economy - industry, construction, transport, agriculture, energetics, space exploration, services sector, foreign and domestic trade, etc.

In the near future, the Council plans to organize the visit of the delegation of Ukrainian businessmen to Pakistan, launch a newsletter and make recommendations to the First session of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Pakistani Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation, which is planned for this year in Kyiv. The meeting participants were welcomed by the Ambassador of Pakistan in Ukraine Mr. A.N. Saleem Mela and the Ambassador of Ukraine in Pakistan Volodymyr Lakomov.
