Legal framework between Ukraine and Pakistan

As of the beginning of 2020, the legal framework of Ukrainian-Pakistani relations includes the following documents:

1. Agreement (in the form of an exchange of notes) between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on the establishment of diplomatic relations (March 16, 1992);

2. Memorandum of Understanding between Ukraine and Pakistan on the occasion of the official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Ukraine (07.07.1994);

3. Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan (03.03.2005);

4. Memorandum of Cooperation between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the field of defense (concluded on November 2, 2006, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on May 23, 2007);

5. Regulations on the powers (activities) of the Joint Ukrainian-Pakistani Commission on Cooperation in the Military and Defense Industries (October 6, 2009);

6. Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on trade and economic cooperation (signed on October 9, 2009, entered into force on January 31, 2011);

7. Convention between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Pakistan on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income (signed on 22.12.2008, entered into force on 30.06.2011);

8. Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on the establishment of the Joint Ukrainian-Pakistani Commission on Economic Cooperation (July 25, 2012);

9. Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the IRP on mutual protection of classified information (08.12.2012);

10. Memorandum of Understanding between the State Concern "Ukroboronprom" and the Ministry of Defense Industry of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on joint development, production, repair and modernization of tanks (February 20, 2017).

11. Memorandum of Cooperation between the Diplomatic Academies of Ukraine and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan (as updated).
