Your Excellency, Mr. Syed Fakhar Imam Shah, the Chairman of the Special Committee on Kashmir in the status of Federal Minister,
Dear Senators, Members of the National Assembly, High Dignitaries!
My Dear Colleagues, Ambassadors
Dear Friends!
On occasion of the 28th Anniversary of Independence of Ukraine, I would like to extend my sincere wishes of peace, love and prosperity to all Ukrainian compatriots as well as to all our foreign partners and friends. Especially here in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Ukraine as a proud sovereign nation existed since very ancient time in the European continent. The first European democratic Constitution, the Ukrainian one, was written in 1710. Ukrainians are said to be born free because freedom has always been at the forefront of all political and social processes in Ukraine.
Today we continue our struggle for freedom and independent development.
In 2014, Ukraine stopped the invasion of aggressor and retained statehood. We are not only fighting for our own independence and sovereignty, but for the freedom and security of the whole Europe.
Illegal occupation of Crimea remains in the focus of the international agenda. International solidarity with Ukraine has been maintained. New restrictive measures have been added by EU and US to the sanction packages in response to the Russian aggression.
We thank the US, EU countries, Сanada, and other members of world community, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, for the consistent support of Ukraine on the international arena.
This year many important events took place in our country – among them I would like to emphasize the presidential and parliamentary elections. According to the world`s leading experts, they clearly demonstrated the high level standards of mature democracy in the country.
By the results of the elections, significant change of power took place: newly-elected President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has become a new Head of the State, and the political force – party The Servant to People received a majority of votes of Ukrainians. With this tremendous victory, a new team demonstrated a strong intention to lead Ukraine to prosperous future.
Ukrainian current priorities are based on 4 pillars: economic growth, security of the state, improvement of the government’s effectiveness & quality of life, investment in human capital development.
Slower inflation, reduced budget deficit have already led to economic growth which is according to the latest statistics is one of the highest in Europe.
Ukraine remains committed to peaceful resolution of the current war under the Minsk Agreements. According to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, while celebrating Independence Day, we believe that another equally significant date will appear in the Ukrainian calendar - the day when peace comes.
The foreign policy of Ukraine is shaped by clearly defined priorities. Cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union is a strategic choice based on shared history and values. At the same time, Ukraine is eager to have mutually beneficial relationship with our partners in different parts of the globe and continues his active participation in the international fora.
As Ukrainian Ambassador in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, I am very pleased to admit that Pakistan is among our best friends. Today, both Ukraine and Pakistan share close and special relationship. Both countries strive to achieve stability, human development, and economic growth for the well-being of all their citizens. These commonalities make the connection and collaboration between Ukraine and Pakistan so natural and fertile.
We highly appreciate an outstanding cooperation between Pakistan and Ukraine in the sphere of military technical area and industrial field that will proceed in future. My strong belief is that the relations between our countries are poised to make further advances in the coming years.
Our common goal is to promote collaboration between our countries to a qualitatively new level. We consider a development of close contacts between parliaments of our two countries as an important way of diversification of our political cooperation. Also important are further promotion of cultural ties and cooperation in science and education.
Let me congratulate you once again with the Independence Day of Ukraine! My gratitude and many thanks to Ukrainian state company UKRSPETEXPORT and to TROJANS company, the flagship of Pakistani and international high tech industry, also my thanks to long time partners Serena hotels group, especially to their top managers and its staff.
