Press release of the Embassy of Ukraine in Pakistan (Day of Mourning January 15, 2015)
January 15, 2015
EMBASSY OF UKRAINE TO THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN
The Embassy of Ukraine with profound sorrow informs that January 15, 2015, was proclaimed in Ukraine the Day of Mourning for the people murdered by terrorists. First of all, for the civilians killed by pro-Russian militants-terrorists on January 13 at the checkpoint near Volnovakha (Ukraine). Terrorists have destroyed the civilian bus at the checkpoint with a rocket.
The lives of around 4,5 thousand people were lost in Ukraine since the start of the Russian aggression; 298 passengers of the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 became victims of terrorists backed and armed by Russia;
Only since September 5, 2014, when the ceasefire regime was set up, 130 Ukrainian civilian citizens have so far been murdered by terrorists;
All innocent victims have been killed with Russian weapons, which are being permanently supplied by Moscow to the militants in the East of Ukraine in a non-stop regime;
The terrorists must be held accountable for their crimes against humanity; The so-called formations “DNR/LNR” must be recognized as terrorist organizations;
Until Russia ignores the Minsk arrangements and proceeds with supporting the illegal armed militia units, it is nothing other than “a country that supports international terrorism” keeping Ukraine as a hostage; Russia is responsible for the blood of peaceful Ukrainians and foreign citizens that were assassinated by terrorists;
Russia has never condemned the crimes of its fosterlings; Russia’s support confirms that it shares the ideas and mindset of terrorists;
If the world does not force Russia to refuse from its aggressive actions, Ukraine will see more human casualties as a result of terrorist activity, and the Europe will never feel safe;
Stopping terrorists in the East of Ukraine would become a real step forward by the world community in its fight against international terrorism.
